General Information

When?

  • Monday, June 3rd – Saturday, June 15th
     

  • Demo Day:  Wednesday, June 18th. Teams will have the opportunity to pitch to venture capitalists and entrepreneurs.
     

  • Schedule: 9:00 am- 6:00 pm and some time to do market research on weekends. 

Where?

  • ITAM Rio Hondo Campus with the exception of the 4th, 5th and 6th of June, when sessions will be held at BBVA Open Innovation.

Who?

  • 65 undergraduate and graduate students interested in getting involved in the entrepreneurial ecosystem, and enthusiastic to develop their skills and knowledge in entrepreneurship.

Investment

  • Cost for students* of ITAM and the UNAM Chemistry Faculty: $8,500 MXN + IVA

  • Cost for the general public: $10,000 MXN + IVA

  • (Cost includes 2-week session, 3 field trips, networking cocktail, and access to Disciplined Entrepreneurship text book) The cost does not include breakfast, lunch or dinner.

* All students must be granted admission by a selection committee before making payment

Eligibility

 Minimum requirements:

  • Fluency in English.

  • Currently enrolled in an academic program at ITAM (or at a participating university) or already an ITAM Graduate (max 2016). Students from other specific universities have been invited to participate. If you wish to participate but have not received an invitation, please send an email to epiclab@itam.mx.

  • Interested in Entrepreneurship and in developing a high impact project.

  • Able to work on a multidisciplinary team with students from a variety of universities.

  • Full time availability during the entire program (June 3rd to June 15th, with a Demo Day on June 18th).

  • We strongly encourage students to form new teams and to develop new ideas. However, if you already have a team or have a specific idea you wish to develop, please send an email to epiclab@itam.mx. An interview will be scheduled and a committee will determine your eligibility on a case by case basis.

General Structure

  • Teams of 4 to 5 students will be formed. Each team must be comprised of students from at least 3 different universities and/or academic programs.

  • The academic program is based on Bill Aulet’s Disciplined Entrepreneurship methodology.

  • The methodology will be taught by Will Sanchez, Entrepreneur in Residence at the Martin Trust Center for MIT Entrepreneurship

  • The objective of this course is to teach students how to develop an entrepreneurial project. Students will design a product or service, identify their target market and technical requirements, and outline a financial plan. 

  • Each team will be assigned one or two mentors. 

  • A Demo Day will be held in front of investors, entrepreneurs, and members of the EPIC Lab Advisory Board. 

  • Languages of instruction: English and Spanish.
